Cork board frames have become the brand new hottest thing, and for good reason of course. Primarily used in dorm rooms, offices, and classrooms to post notices for everyone. It's wonderful because of the way you can put to-do activities lists, pictures and other memories into the board so that it's a fun yet useful way to keep on top of things that you may normally not remember.
Most popular are cork frames in the dorm rooms. It's one of the best way that college students can stay in touch with each other, and also keep on top of lecture notes and pictures of recent activities. Frames made of cork are easy to manage, which makes it great as you don't' have to spend time managing the board. Which is the reason that they are so perfect for the college student, an easy to use and manage board.
Libraries and schools are great places for cork boards. Most public libraries use a glass casing around them so that they can be easy to update, to make sure that they don't have to deal with unnecessary sales letters. Schools are also big advocates for cork frames as they help establish upcoming classes, releases and temporary notices.
Cork board frames come in two types of designs, you can either build one yourself or purchase a premade one at your local supply store. Usually people will like to simply purchase one from an office supply store, the most common example being an aluminum framed cork board. The creativity is in the creation of your own cork frame though. For an example, find some old wood, even old window frames make excellent borders. Other people simply enjoy just the creativity of the project and the freedom to create exactly what you want. The beauty is that you aren't limited to any one style or form, let your imagination roar and create the best cork frame for your dorm, classroom or office.
It doesn't matter what you decide to do, you can either manufacture or buy your own cork frame. Be sure to use a cork board that is atleast 1/2 an inch thick. This allows you to not have to worry about anything that you stick to the cork. That's very important as things like pictures and documents can be pretty heavy and you want a board that can support that. One thing to look for when purchasing your frame is to figure out how it is created to be put on the wall, some use double sided tape and others use hooks. Depending on where you are putting it up will influence your need for either a tape or hook variation. Some dorms won't allow you to use nails and create holes, therefore you will need to find a tape solution.
